We have a staff of  teachers who have all performed on a professional level.  They are well trained and enjoy working with students of all ages.


Miss Beth           
         Beth is our CEO.  She runs the studio, manages the office and keeps  everything  running  smoothly.

Kate Maurer our Artistic Director is a graduate of Mesa State College with her bachelor degree in Sociology and a minor in Dance education.  Kate was a part of the Samuel Inspirations Performance Company and performed different dance works and solos.  She also performed in the Rock operetta Don’t Try Walking in My Shoes.   She helped choreograph shows at the Greenshoe Theatre Company and Mesa State College.  Kate studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Improvisation and she has studied dance at Joffery Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Company, Mesa State and Dance Works in Grand Junction.   We are excited to have Kate join the teaching staff at Grand Jetè Dance Academy.

 Julie Christy studied dance at Park Avenue Dance Works most recently, but her experience and training extend before her arrival in Montrose. Julie began her ballet study at the age of 5, dancing for approximately 6 years. She then pursued gymnastics and cheerleading for several years. In college, at the University of Northern Iowa, Julie performed with the dance group “Orchesis” for one year, and was also a member of UNI’s gymnastic team her freshman year of college. While in College, Julie taught gymnastics to youngsters and aerobics to adults. In addition she taught the Ptarmigan Tumblers for a while, here in Montrose. In the fall of 2000, Julie returned to dance with Park Avenue Dance Works! She danced with PADW for 5 years and will continue to dance with Grand Jetè Dance Academy as well be a part of the teaching staff!

Bonnie Davis joins us from Grand Junction where she has just completed her studies in Dance with a bachelor’s degree in the arts and after receiving the Choreography Award for Artistic Excellence. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old and has a wide knowledge of all styles of dance. While at CSU Bonnie had the chance to student teach a college level intermediate modern class.  As a team effort she taught a movement class to developmentally challenged adolescents and was a guest teacher twice a week at a local Fort Collins High School for a jazz P.E. class.  At             Grand Jetè Dance Academy Bonnie will be teaching Ballet, Jazz, Turns and Leaps.

Keith Dearth has danced all his life. He began Ballroom dancing about 40 years ago when he and his wife Mary Ellen took a 3-week cruise from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale. Since then Keith has danced all over the world. He's danced on over 33 cruises, on every continent and in 72 countries. His dance lessons include all the popular Ballroom styles, including: Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Tango, Bosanova, Jitterbug Swing, Salsa, Merengue, Quick-Step, the West Coast Swing and others. Keith has trained with masters in Ballroom all over the world and he has taught many Ballroom classes at Park Avenue Dance Works as well as in Delta. We're thrilled to have him teaching for us.

Michelle Hilton has been dancing since she was 6 years old. She studied dance at the University of Maryland and minored in dance at the University of Northern Colorado where she performed with the "UNC Tour Troupe." She studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Swing and was featured in the UNC annual concerts. Montrose audiences have seen Michelle on the stage of Magic Circle, PADW performances and as a member of Feet First Dance Ensemble.

Sheyanne Lang is a native of Western Colorado where she has had extensive dance training for ten years.  She spent two years touring, professionally, with Feet First Dance Ensemble, Experimental Dance Company, based in Montrose.  She has studied with Park Ave. Dance Works, The Colorado Ballet, David Taylor Contemporary Dance Company, The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, and Guest Teachers from Julliard School of the Performing Arts.  Shey has been featured as Lead Dancer in many PADW productions.  We are thrilled to add Sheyanne to the staff at Grand Jetè Dance Academy.
